Great Expectations

Great Expectations 是狄更斯的小說. 2013 年底, 英國拍了這部小說改編的電影.

兩天前我看了 The Invisible Woman, 忍不去去找了有關於狄更斯的種種, 所以就間接地發現了這部電影. Great Expecations 拍得很活潑, 讓人一點都不覺得很沈悶, 但同時也保有了古典文學的優雅. 尤其是 Estella, 是我最愛的 Borgias 女孩演的. 冷酷的富家美女找她演真的是非常的適合!

內容主要是在講一個小男生 Pip, 從小比較好學, 在陰錯陽差下, 幫助了一個逃犯. 逃犯後來為了報答他, 努力工作, 為了就是讓小男生達成夢想, 匿名地讓他繼承他的錢財, 幫助他提升到倫敦上流社會. Pip 從小就認識了一個貴族養女 Estella , 對她一見鍾情, 後來長大在上流社會遇到她, 還是對她一往情深. Estella 從小就被指導著要冷血對待男人, 但唯獨對 Pip 懷著真誠的感情. 而電影的結局兩個人仍是有情人終成眷屬.

我很喜歡看文藝片, 尤其有英國氛圍的文藝片. 每個人的感情都是很壓抑, 有時候眼神的傳達更勝於肢體的接觸, 讓情緒變得很綿密, 很濃鬱.  音樂, 或是構圖都很唯美, 讓人融入其中, 沈醉在浪漫的懷抱中!

而古典小說的文藝片更勝, 是因為他們有很典雅的台詞, 用很美麗的方式敘述愛. Pip 是這麼對 Estella 表達的

You are part of my existence, part of myself. You have been in every line I have ever read.

You have been in every prospect I have ever seen since – on the river, on the sails of the ships, on the marshes, in the clouds, in the light, in the darkness, in the wind, in the woods, in the sea, in the streets. You have been the embodiment of every graceful fancy that my mind has ever become acquainted with. 

Estella, to the last hour of my life, you cannot choose but remain part of my character, part of the little good in me, part of the evil. 

簡單的說, Estella, 你是我人生的一部份. 但 Dickson 就可以把他寫得這麼美, 這麼煽情. 啊~ 會動嘴皮子的男人還是很有魅力的!
